College Application ProcessThe Counselors recently met with all the seniors in their English classes regarding the college application process. Students were provided with a packet of information. Please be aware that there are deadlines for submitting requests to have transcripts andother information sent to colleges.
ACT (College Admission Exam)The High School serves as at test center for the ACT on selected dates throughout the school year. We will be administering the test on April 13th (Registration deadline is March 8th) and June 8t (Registration deadline is May3rd). Students should go to www.actstudent.org to register. The High School is listed under Mertztown, PA. Please contact Mr. Allison with any questions.
Berks Career & Technology Center – Application ProcessA representative from BCTC will presents a program overview to 9th grade students on in early October. Students will have an opportunity to tour the East Campus later that month and the West Campus at a later time.. BCTC applications are available in the Counseling Office after the tour. Applications are due in the Counseling Office when we return from Thanksgiving vacation. To receive maximum consideration, the application needs to be returned by the second week of December. They can be accepted later in the year, but a student can only be accepted if there is an opening in the program for which they are applying.BCTC hosts an evening Open House for parents and students at both campuses during November.
Financial Aid & Scholarships 1. The Counseling Office receives a great deal of information regarding scholarships. A listing of this information can be found by clicking on the “Scholarship Information” tab on the left side of the home page.3. By clicking on the “Financial Aid Search Web Site” tab on the left side of the home page, students can find links to web sites regarding scholarships and financial aid. Many of these web sites allow students to search for scholarships based upon their individual situations.
